Brackaville Owen Roes support the Niamh Louise Foundation

Brackaville Owen Roes ran a very successful 10k Race/ 5k Walk on Saturday 2nd October. Club officials, members and players young and old came out to support the event.

Speaking about the event, Resource Centre Manager, Eimear Mc Kearney has said,

‘the charity was delighted to be working closely with Brackaville Owen Roes. Whilst the 10k was a huge physical challenge for some of us it was an excellent opportunity for the whole community to raise awareness of suicide’.

She continued,

‘Many of us do not realise that there is a direct link between our mental health and our physical health and the 10k run/ 5k walk was an ideal opportunity for us to exercise both and also to have some fun along the way!’

Well done to Aaron Cunningham who won the 5K run!

A huge thank you must go to the organizers of the event, particularly Cathal O Hagan, all those who helped out on the day- from the stewards to the ladies making the tea in the hall.

Also to our own volunteers who were there to lend a hand on the day!
