The Niamh Louise Foundation was delighted to have the opportunity to work with Year 3 students and their lecturers in St. Mary’s University College, Belfast, to expand our Empowering Young Minds programme. funded by The National Lottery Community Fund Northern Ireland We were able to develop an introductory pilot programme which will work towards helping the trainee teachers introduce the topics of emotions, anxiety, positive mental health, and mental ill-health into their classrooms.

The overarching objective will be for them to instil resilience, promote positive well-being, and positive self-worth within the classroom setting in the prevention of poor mental health, self-harm and suicide in later years.
