WALK AND TALK 2019 Thank you!

At the Niamh Louise Foundation we hosted our annual walk and talk event on Saturday 7th September 2019, which was held in remembrance of World Suicide Awareness Day, which takes place, 10th September.

The aim of this annual event is to beat the negative stigma around self harm & suicide, and encourage the message that it is okay to talk.

In 2019 we decided to change the format of our event. In previous years we have completed a darkness into light walk, however this year we did a 7k walk from Dungannon to Coalisland, and also added an additional 40 mile cycle route.

As well as this, we wanted to make it a day for all the family, so at our finish line at Newell Stores, not only did we have refreshments but also a family fun day which included vintage cars, bouncy castles and candyfloss!

We could sit here all day and thank everyone who played a part in the event, however here are just a few:

We would like to thank Newell Stores for their generosity during the event, who not only let us use their Coalisland premises for our fun day but also by supplying refreshments at the finish line.

We would also like to thank VandS Bouncys for providing plenty of entertainment on the day in the form of bouncy castles plus popcorn and candy floss which went down a treat with both the kids and the young at heart.

We would also extend our gratitude to SuperValu Aughnacloy who kindly supplied refreshments for our walkers at various points throughout the route.

Thank you to the local PSNI for their support in marshalling the event and ensuring everyone made it to Coalisland safely

And last but not least, we would like to thank all of our staff, volunteers and committee members who played a key part in organising and managing this great event.

We hope you guys had as great a time as we did, and we look forward to seeing what next year’s event has to bring!
