Volunteering at the Niamh Louise Foundation can be a really rewarding and useful experience – and there's probably more ways of doing it than you might think.

As a charity, we were delighted to be awarded the Queens Award for Voluntary Service in June 2016. This is the highest accolade which can be given to a voluntary group and is the equivalent to an MBE.

Volunteers are really important to the Niamh Louise Foundation and work alongside staff in a variety of crucial roles.

At present the organisation has a number of volunteers regularly involved in our work, and we want to continue to expand and develop the services we provide but to do this, we need more volunteers – people like you.

Our volunteers are of all ages and from all walks of life.  Some of our volunteers have experienced mental ill health personally or have been affected by suicide, and others have no personal experience but have appropriate skills, knowledge and personal qualities, and are interested in helping others.

How to Get Involved

We have a variety of different volunteer roles and the time commitment required varies from role to role. Some roles also require volunteers to undergo training before they can start but no previous qualifications are essential for any role.

Roles include volunteering at awareness stands, acting as a marshal at our walk and talk event, providing help with administration and digital work, helping with cleaning, physical labour including redecorating our premises & garden polytunnel, joining our committee and more.

The Niamh Louise Foundation committed to providing support for those needing their services, and wishes to see all sections of the community represented among our volunteers.
