Niamh Louise foundation supports communities for 5 years

On the 2nd February this year, the Niamh Louise Foundation will have been supporting individuals & communities who are vulnerable and affected by suicide for 5 years. The Foundation set up following the death by suicide of local 15 year old Niamh Mc kee has seen a steady increase in demand for its services over the past few years. As a result the charity has been established across the counties of Armagh & Tyrone in the prevention, intervention and postvention of suicide and self harm

The charity has currently three resource centres in operation. Western House, Coalisland is Head Office,  is considered one of the Protect Life Resource Centres in the Southern Trust. The other two centres are situated in Cookstown and Richhill are strategically placed and mirror the work of Western House offering similar support mechanisms locally in those areas.

These centres are manned by trained staff and volunteers that ensure those in need get the best provision of care with a non judgemental listening ear.

In 2010, the charity was announced as the Charity of the Year for Marks and Spencer’s. To Mark the occasion of being 5 years in operation, the Charity in conjunction with Marks & Spencer Armagh have decided to run a grand dinner. Marks and Spencer have joined up with this event having deferred their Christmas staff dinner.  If your staff night out at Christmas was cancelled due to the weather this would be the perfect night out and also proceeds will go to a very worthwhile cause.

This Grand Dinner will take place in Armagh City Hotel on Sat 5th Feb 2011 at 7.30pm with entertainment by the wonderful ‘Luv Bug’ . Dress code is smart dress. MC for the evening will be Mr Malachi Cush and Patron of the Charity, Ivan Little will also be present. The evening will also include a small action and many raffle prizes will be available.

Tickets are very well priced and great value at £45 per head. Tables of 10 are also available for £450.00.  There are currently only a few tickets left for sale and the charity has been overwhelmed by the public support for this event considering the  economic times we live in .Further  information can be obtained by contacting Eimear on 02887740354, Nikita on 02838879870 or Cathy on 02886769366.

The Charity would like to take this opportunity to thank all their sponsors and funders throughout the years for their continued support. Without all of you, the charity would not be able to do the work they do in suicide awareness, prevention and support.
