Remembering our loved ones at Christmas at the Ceremony of Lights

The Niamh Louise Foundation celebrated its Annual Ceremony of Lights in December 2010. An event was held in Armagh on Wednesday 8th December in Armagh City Hotel followed by an event held in Cookstown on Wednesday 15th December in the Glenavon House Hotel.

These very special events welcomed families bereaved by suicide to come together to remember their loved ones.

Both ceremonies were hosted by founder James Mc Bennett whilst the beautiful music was provided by Clonmore Choir in Armagh and Bella Voce in Cookstown.

During the ceremony itself, all those present were given the opportunity to light a candle in memory of their loved one and messages were placed on the Christmas tree.

Speaking the events were founder Catherine Mc Bennett, Teresa Mc Kenna and Sharon Cunningham. All three ladies spoke from the heart and gave hope and light to al those who had lost a loved one to suicide.

Both hotels provided beautiful refreshments after the events were people attending had the opportunity to speak with staff from the Niamh Louise Foundation and to others who have been affected by suicide.
