The Niamh Louise foundation has recently celebrated its fifth year of supporting communities.

To mark the occasion the charity in conjunction with Marks and Spencer held a Grand Dinner in Armagh City Hotel. With over 350 patrons in attendance the evening proved to be an array of good food, good entertainment and great music provided by the fabulous ‘Luv Bug’.

As the charity works across the counties of Armagh & Tyrone, with centres in Coalisland ,Cookstown and Richhill, there were plenty of distinguished guests in attendance which included, Mr Jim Spears and his wife Elizabeth (Mayor of Armagh District council) Michelle O Neill  & Husband (Mayor of Dungannon/South Tyrone Borough Council and Vice Chair of Health Committee), John Mc Namee and his wife (Chair of Cookstown District Council), Ivan Little (Patron of the Charity) and many other guests from the business, statutory and community sector. Also present were many representatives from Marks & Spencer who had selected the foundation last year as their Charity of the year.

Master of ceremonies for the evening was Mr Malachi Cush who done a fantastic job of keeping the proceedings going right until the end.

The Charity would like to thank all the speakers on the night for their participation. After very moving address from Mayor Spears, treasurer of the charity Teresa Mc kenna said the grace before meals and all in attendance tucked in to a delightful four course meal.

There were also moving words from Founder of the charity Catherine Mc Bennett, John Mooney Chair of the Charity and Anna Millar form Marks& Spencer. In the background throughout the evening there was a presentation of the last 5 years of the work of the charity beautifully created in a slideshow by Damian Boyle.

During the evening, Patron of the Niamh Louise Foundation,  Ivan Little organised the selections in a fantastic raffle with more than 50 prizes on offer, all gratefully sponsored by many businesses and well wishers from all over Northern Ireland. A small auction also created a bit of excitement professionally adjudicated by Mr Paul Grimley.Many thanks to all those who gave their services and products to making this a great success.

Also on the evening was the formal launch of our latest venture, A Grand Draw finishing on20th November 2011. Present in the room was the top prize of a brand new Citroen C1 Car kindly by the Donnelly Group and with other prizes of a Holiday in Bulgaria and a week-end in the fantastic Dunadry Hotel and County Club (Mooney Group Hotels) to be won. Tickets can be got from Draw Co-ordinator Paddy Wallace or any of the charity fundraising committee. Tickets are very reasonably priced at £10 or 3 for £20.

The charity would like to take this opportunity to thank all it patrons for their continued support and their contribution to the fantastic evening of enjoyment. To Marks & Spencer for their efforts over the year, all the sponsors and organisers, to many to mention. A special word of thanks to our own Nikita Loughran and Eimear Mc Kearney for making it all work on the evening and their immaculate attention to detail. The trustees, management staff and volunteers would also like to wish Eimear all the best in her new role and thank her for her hard work over the past 3 years.

The Charity would also like to thank the management and staff of the Glenavon House Hotel in Cookstown who organised an evening of dance in aid of the charity. Thank you to all who supported and participated in this event as well.
