Niamh Louise Foundation deliver training to Communities

On Saturday 22nd and Saturday 29th June, the Niamh Louise Foundation delivered Mental Health First Aid in First Steps Women’s Centre in Dungannon funded by the Neighbourhood Renewal scheme.  Participants gained knowledge into a range of mental health issues including depression, psychosis, anxiety, and suicide and were equipped with the skills to help an individual in a mental health crisis or developing a mental health problem.

On 21st and 22nd July the Foundation will be delivering the Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training on behalf of S.T.E.P.S, suicide and mental health awareness in Draperstown who have been funded by the Pharmacy Project. This course will equip the participants will the knowledge and skills to intervene with someone in a suicidal crisis.

These courses, and the Foundation’s own awareness workshop, are vital in educating our communities on poor mental health and it’s link with self harm and suicide. More information on training available can be gained by contacting the Foundation.
