To mark the occasion the charity in conjunction with Marks and Spencer held a Grand Dinner in Armagh City Hotel. With over 350 patrons in attendance the evening proved to be an array of good food, good entertainment and great music provided by the fabulous ‘Luv Bug’.
On the 2nd February this year, the Niamh Louise Foundation will have been supporting individuals & communities who are vulnerable and affected by suicide for 5 years. The Foundation set up following the death by suicide of local 15 year old Niamh Mc kee has seen a steady increase in demand for its services over the past few years.
The Niamh Louise Foundation celebrated its Annual Ceremony of Lights in December 2010.
DUP Mid Ulster MLA Ian McCrea was delighted to welcome the Chair of the Health Committee, Jim Wells MLA to the Niamh Louise Foundation office in Cookstown.
Founders of the Niamh Louise Foundation were recently invited to a reception at the Palace Demesne in Armagh by the former Mayor of Armagh City and District Thomas O Hanlon who had chosen the charity as his nominated charity of the year during his term of office.
The Niamh Louise Foundation recently welcomed a visit from the Minister of Education, Caitriona Ruane. The Minister accepted an invitation from the locally charity to visit Western House Coalisland on Thursday 25th November to discuss the provision of emotional well being and suicide prevention in primary and post primary schools.
The Niamh Louise Foundation Trustees and Staff were invited to O Tooles Bar Ballymacnab recently, to gratefully accept a cheque for £13,000, the proceeds from the very successful Feile Joe that took place from Fri 27th - Sun 29th August.
Brackaville Owen Roes ran a very successful 10k Race/ 5k Walk on Saturday 2nd October. Club officials, members and players young and old came out to support the event.
The charity was very pleased to be invited to attend the Irish Association of Suicidology Annual Conference in Sligo on Tuesday 5th October.
