After the success of Team Ben in 2010, raising £5,873.50 for Marie Curie Cancer Care, Mia McKeown, HR Manager of Avondale Foods Lurgan has organized Team M-7.
The objective is to trek all seven peaks in the Mourne Mountains that are 700m+ above sea level in order to raise money for the NI Chest Heart & Stroke and Niamh Louise Foundation. To date, there are 15 trekkers who signed up for the challenge. The event will take place on Saturday, 6th August 2011 at 7am.
Several other fundraising activities were organised by Avondale foods staff such as Coffee Morning sponsored by Starbucks and Windsor Bakery, Zumba sponsored by One Fitness, Portadown, Charity Disco at JPs Lounge in Lurgan. Other activities are still being organised.
M7 have been practicing every weekend at the Mourne Mountains to build up their endurance and speed for the much awaited event, Mourne Sevens Challenge on Saturday, 6th August 2011.
