Niamh Louise Foundation visits local schools

On Tuesday 31st August, Eimear Mc Kearney and Cathy Hanna were welcomed to Holy Trininty College, Cookstown, to deliver the Mental Health, Suicide and Self Harm Workshop to the entire staff at the school. In order to help the staff in their daily work and to raise their awareness of suicide and self harm a short presentation was delivered to the large group.

The charity has also been fortunate in being afforded the opportunity to deliver workshops in other educational settings. On Thursday 23rd September we visited Drumglass High School Dungannon to present to year 13 & 14 Health and Social Care students. Students participated well in the workshop which entailed,

  • Suicide and self harm in more depth
  • Myths , facts and figures
  • How to respond?
  • Lifeline

Students were provided with a range of literature on Looking after your Mental Health, Self Help booklets, Coping with Exam Pressure and further information on the Myths and Facts surrounding Suicide and Self Harm, Understanding Self Harm and various other relevant material.
